DIFFERENT CULTURES BESPOKE SOFA DESIGN

Client Presentation (dragged) 1.jpg

The client wanted to create a sofa that fitted her french neoclassical interior home, while merging the Egyptian culture due to her roots, while using the fabric of the dress as upholstery.

The frame of the sofa is french neoclassical with the long back and the carved legs, and the flowers carving details. Assuring that the sofa will fit within her interior space. The Egyptian culture was added through the Masrabeya back, which gave the sofa a unique character. In addition, mother of pearl inlays were added in small details to perfect it.

The Palestinian fabric -given from the client- was added towards the inside. But due to the fact that the fabric is not enough, another floral fabric from Pierre Frey was added, adding to the piece a whole new dimension of design and making it more funky and appealing to the client's character.

The wood was changed from the proposed render, as the darker walnut wood created a beautiful contrast with the mother of pearls inlay. Different shapes were designed on the tops with different inlays, merging brass and mother of pearls together.
